The Untamed is a hunting film like no other. Whereas most hunting flicks take us on an adventure, and leave it at that, The Untamed is an adventure with a purpose. It draws us inward; makes us consider the why of hunting, as well as the way. This film is a search – for elk, for deer, for bear. But most importantly, it is a search for the hunt itself.

Twistedstave Media was founded in 2012 with the purpose of promoting woodsmanship, wild lands, and conservation through film and educational videos. Clay Hayes is a professional wildlife biologist, bowhunter, filmmaker and writer. Growing up on his family’s farm in the Florida panhandle he spent his youth chasing snakes and squirrels among the oak hummocks and Spanish moss. But wild lands eventually called him west where he’s now chasing elk and bear around the rugged mountains of central Idaho.
