Barren Ground

Film Overview

This short film showcases the extreme lengths that two Alaskan hunters will go to pursue the Barren Ground Caribou in terrain so rugged and lofty the caribou are often sharing the same slopes with Dall sheep. Follow two men as they venture deep in to the mountain ranges of Alaska to return to the valley where they had first hunted together, the place where the adventure film company 60th Parallel was born. Witness the humility of defeat as well as the thrill of success as they venture into the rugged, unforgiving mountains, and realize that, “It’s not just about the trophy, it’s about the entire experience.”

“60th Parallel Adventures”
60th Parallel is an adventure company consisting of a group of Alaskans whose passion for extreme hunting and the outdoors is matched only by their passion for sharing their experiences with others. Living in Alaska as they do, the 60th team is honored to be able to regularly enjoy hunts that many would consider a once-in–a-lifetime experience. Realizing what a blessing this is, they feel compelled to share their adventures through film, in the hope that others will be inspired to get out and enjoy the outdoors, challenge themselves, and share the experience with their friends and families.
